
Albany FireWolves Ink Alex Simmons for Two Years

The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), today announce that the team has agreed to a two-year deal with forward Alex Simmons.
Simmons was drafted fourth overall by Albany in the first round of the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. Simmons played collegiately at the University of Denver where he played in 50 career games and started in 33. He tallied 129 points on 81 goals and 48 assists during his tenure, splitting time between midfield and attack. Simmons transferred to Syracuse University to play his fifth year of eligibility as a graduate student. With the Orange, he started in all 15 contests and finished the season with 36 total points on 21 goals and 15 assists. The forward also played for the St. Catharines Athletics of the Ontario Jr. A Lacrosse League (OJALL) for five seasons where he compiled 232 total points on 100 goals and 132 assists. He led St. Catharines to a title and was named league MVP in 2021.

"It has always been the dream to play in this league alongside the best in the world, and I'm incredibly grateful and ready for the opportunity. I can't wait to help our team in any way I can to get more wins and back into post-season play!"
