Alaska Wild Player Tryouts November 17
November 14, 2007 - Intense Football League (Intense)
Alaska Wild News Release
It's about that time to show if you have the right stuff to become a member of the Alaska Wild Football Team. If you want to get in the game, then you should come out to the Alaska Wild player tryouts. Last season, fifteen players on our team were from Alaska. The goal of player tryouts is to tap into our Alaskan home-grown talent. The coaches know that there's talent around Alaska and this Saturday at the CellularOne Sports Center will be jam packed filled with talented athletes. Not all athletes make the team from the tryouts, but that doesn't mean you still couldn't make the squad. If you have a "don't quit attitude" we will be conducting sign-ups for the Anchorage Indoor Flag Football League (AIFFL) after each session during player tryouts on Saturday, November 17th. The AIFFL is a developmental league for the Alaska Wild and last season, six players from the AIFFL were signed by the Alaska Wild. Some of those players such as Justin Dailey and Sean Chase went on to become starters and made game-changing plays for the Alaska Wild. "We want the AIFFL to expand into a viable pipeline to our Alaska Wild football team for the athletes residing in the greater Anchorage area", David Weatherholt, President of the Alaska Wild said.
Our mission as a team is to find the right all-around athlete to represent this franchise. When an athlete becomes an Alaska Wild football player, there's commitments on and off the field one must make to the community of Anchorage
and beyond. Go Wild!
