Alaska Professional Sports has named Shawn L. Washington their Public Relations Specialist for Alaska's own Intense Football League team, Alaska Wild.
Shawn's role will be vital to the organization. The key mission of his position is to aid in the development of strong and healthy relationships between the Alaska Wild, the community and all media outlets.
Shawn is originally from Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from A.J. Dimond High, where he was a two-time all-state performer in football. After high school, Shawn attended Whitworth University, in Spokane, Washington. He received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology. He also lettered in football as a defensive lineman as a member of the Whitworth Pirates NCAA Division III football team. Shawn is currently wrapping up a Master's degree in Sport and Athletic Administration at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Some of Shawn's work experiences include working for ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Radio in Spokane, WA. He loves sports! For two years, Shawn has been happily married to his wife, Morgen.
The Alaska Wild is part of the Intense Football League (IFL). Founded in 2003, the IFL consists of eight professional indoor football teams, two of which are located outside of Texas, the Louisiana Swashbucklers of Lake Charles, LA and the Alaska Wild of Anchorage. Texas teams include the CenTex Barracudas of Belton, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Odessa Roughnecks, San Angelo Stampede Express, Katy Ruff Riders,Frisco Thunder and the recently added Fairbanks, Alaska franchise.
