Akingbade, Green each pour in 18 in defeat of Blizzard in Barre

The Vermont Frost Heaves bolted to a 45-18 lead after the first quarter, then coasted to a 133-103 victory over the Boston Blizzard at the Barre Municipal Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.

Dokun Akingbade and Terrance Green each poured in 18 points, while Antonio Burks added 16, Brett Gravitt 15, and Issa Konare and Markus Austin 14 each. Dwayne Lee scored 12 and Erik Nelson 10 in Vermont's balanced attack.

Vermont, now 24-4, succeeded on 13 three-point attempts for the game, and placed every player in the scoring column.

Ja-maal Brooks scored 22 points to lead Boston, whose record falls to 7-15.

After a game at Montreal on Friday, Feb. 15, the Frost Heaves return to Barre on Sunday, Feb. 17, for a 2:05 p.m. date with the Halifax Rainmen.
