
AirHogs Sign Pitcher Aaron Wilkerson

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced that the team has signed right-handed pitcher Aaron Wilkerson to a contract for the 2014 season.
In 2013, Wilkerson pitched for the AirHogs at the end of the season going 1-1 with a 1.84 ERA in three starts. In his debut with the AirHogs on August 21, Wilkerson gave up one hit in 7.2 innings in a 2-0 win over the Amarillo Sox. He began the season with the Fort Worth Cats posting a 9-1 record with a 2.74 ERA in 13 starts covering 75.2 innings of work.
Wilkerson, a first team all-NAIA selection in his senior season (2011) with Cumberland University (Tenn.), set NAIA marks with 54 consecutive scoreless innings and 26 career victories.
The Grand Prairie AirHogs open the 2014 season on Thursday, May 15 at Wichita. The AirHogs home opener at QuikTrip Park is set for Monday, May 19 against the Lincoln Saltdogs at 7:05 p.m. Check back at the team's official website www.airhogsbaseball.com for any other news as develops.
