AirHogs Re-Sign Infielder Brandon Pinckney

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced that the team has re-signed infielder Brandon Pinckney to a contract for the 2014 season.

Pinckney played a key role in the AirHogs reaching the playoffs last season. In 2013, the veteran batted .296 with four home runs and 45 RBI in 98 games. Pinckney collected his 1,000th career hit last year on June 19 in Kansas City when the AirHogs played the T-Bones.

Originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians organization in the 12th round of the 2003 MLB Draft out of Sacramento City College, Pinckney reached as high as Triple-A with the Indians organization (Buffalo) in 2005 and the Baltimore Orioles organization (Norfolk) in 2009. In 11 seasons of professional baseball, Pinckney owns a .290 career batting average.

The Grand Prairie AirHogs open the 2014 season on Thursday, May 15 at Wichita.
