
AirHogs Acquire RHP Marshall Schuler

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced today that the team has acquired pitcher Marshall Schuler from the Gary SouthShore RailCats in exchange for Alain Quijano. Schuler was 2-3 with a 5.11 ERA in 21 appearances for the RailCats in 2012. He finished the season with the Normal CornBelters in the Frontier League going 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA in 18 games.
Schuler was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 37th round of the 2010 draft out of the Colorado School of Mines (Golden, CO). He went 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 23 innings of work for the Phillies rookie league teams in 2010, but was released at the end of the season.
In 2011, Schuler went 1-2 with a 1.74 ERA with 12 saves in a rather dominating performance as a closer for the Normal CornBelters.
Schuler pitched for Katella High School in Anaheim, CA. before beginning his college career.
