AIFL 2006 Season Schedule Released
November 10, 2005 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release
The American Indoor Football League released its 2006 League Schedule today. With the expansion for the new season fully completed the League is now prepared to enter year two with 16 teams ready for play. Over the past year the growth of the League has more than doubled growing from the six original teams to the current sixteen teams.
League President Andrew Haines expressed his satisfaction by stating "We have accomplished a lot in such a short period of time and the growth that we have experienced is indicative of how we operate and function as a League. Our plan to build regionally in solid markets allows us to develop this League into something each of our owners can be proud of and prosper from".
Executive Director Gary Tufford added that although the season is nearing fast they are already formatting a plan for the 2007 season. "We are extremely busy with not only our day to day operations around the League, but are developing future markets to further the geographical footprint of the AIFL. It's all relative to the success we have today as to where we will be tomorrow". So far the AIFL is positioned on the Eastern Coast of the U.S. Future plans see the development of the Pacific Conference which will make the league truly national.
