Aguilera Earns USL Weekly Honor

(Rochester, NY)...The United Soccer Leagues announced that Rochester Raging Rhinos midfielder Roland "Pato" Aguilera has been named to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week Four. Vancouver Whitecaps forward Jason Jordan was named the USL First Division Overall Player of the Week. The award marks the third straight week a Rhinos has earned a Team of the Week nod (Lenin Steenkamp-Week 2, Rey Martinez and Scott Palguta-Week 3).

Aguilera, the 5-8, 160-pound midfielder from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, assisted on Lenin Steenkamp's goal in the 65th minute in the Rhinos' 2-1 loss at Puerto Rico on May 15th. Aguilera currently leads the team in scoring with three points (1+1) in four games. Last season, Aguilera appeared in 12 games with the Rhinos after a mid-season trade with the Virginia Beach Mariners, collecting five points (2+1).

Aguilera finished the 2003 season with the fifth highest point total with 29 and was tied for eighth with ten goals, earning First Team All-A-League honors with Virginia Beach. Aguilera spent 19 games during the 2000 and 2001 seasons in Major League Soccer with the Columbus Crew and the New England Revolution.

Jason Jordan tallied all four goals in the Vancouver's 4-0 victory over the Charleston Battery. Jordan connected from 12 yards out in the 29th minute for a 1-0 lead at the break and then poured in three more in the second stanza. He chipped goalkeeper Chris Doyle in the 49th, struck a volley from eight yards to complete a hat-trick in the 55th and struck from five yards out in the 77th. Jordan's goals moved him well past the 150-point milestone for the Whitecaps. He now has 61 career goals and 35 assists for 157 points (61+53) in 182 games.
