AG Rugby Move to 4-0 with Road Victory over Seattle

Austin Gilgronis News Release
AG Rugby advances to 4-0 with a gritty road victory over the Seattle Seawolves. The AGs hold the top spot in the league and with the win over previously 3-0 Seattle, Austin is the lone undefeated team in the Western Conference.
AG Head Coach Sam Harris says, "We didn't get it all right in the first half, but after halftime, the team applied what we spoke about at halftime and we were able to come away with a character-building win."
While the AG nation may have been used to their squad coming out the gates firing, the first half of this first road test would be a low-scoring defensive struggle. Both teams braved freezing conditions and took on the challenge of a slick playing surface. After several handling errors from both sides the AGs were able to get out to a 6-3 lead by the boot of Mack Mason. But just before halftime, the Seawolves scored a try to take the lead.
The AGs came out of halftime ready to go and immediately scored a well-worked team try finished off by Julian Dominguez. That try put Dominguez atop the MLR as the leading try scorer with four tries through four matches. Mason slotted a tricky conversion from the sideline to put the AGs up 13-8.
Later in the second half, the AGs mounted defensive pressure and forced a Seattle handling error; gathered and again got over the try line again from short distance. This time it was Lachlan McCaffrey putting down the 5-pointer in his second week back with the team.
Seattle was able to score one final try as time expired; earning themselves a losing bonus point on the league table. The AGs will be pleased with the road victory and moving to 4-0 on the season.
The next task, rival LA at home next Saturday.
