The AGs made an impressive second-half comeback to earn a bonus-point victory on the road in San Diego. The AGs also denied San Diego any points with a late try in what will be heralded as yet another great second-half performance on the season.
The AGs went down early in the first half and earned several penalties. Then late in the second half, a try from captain Bryce Campbell was called back by the TMO official; leaving the AGs down 10 points heading into halftime.
Coming out of halftime the AGs strung together long phases of attack and stout defense. A try from Mason Pedersen and two tries from Hugh Roach helped close the gap and give the AGs the lead. As pressure mounted on San Diego, so too did the penalties.
With a seven-point lead with only seven minutes remaining in the match, it looked as if San Diego might escape with a losing bonus point. But one final try from AG's fullback Chris Mattina gave the AGs an extra 'four tries' bonus point and denied San Diego the losing bonus point.
After the huge win, the AGs now sit a full seven points ahead of San Diego on the table. LA Giltinis take second place with this evening's win and sit four points behind the AGs.
