After First Home Win, Arizona United Hungry for More

Following the club's first home win of the season last Saturday, Arizona United SC head coach Frank Yallop isn't satisfied.

"It's about putting games together and putting runs together," Yallop said. "It's no good just talking about one game. We have to put a bunch of games together and get a bunch of wins."

Arizona United will aim for its first two-match winning streak of the season this Saturday, June 18, against Saint Louis FC. It will be the first time the two clubs ever meet.

"It's always nice when you win," said Yallop about last week's performance. "It makes you feel good and that's why we're in this business. We love the game and all the staff love it and we feel good when the team has performed well and won. And I think that's a big thing for me is making sure we have more of those feelings, especially at home."

Arizona's opponent, Saint Louis FC, comes into the match following a 7-1 win last weekend. Last week, United's opponent, OC Blues FC, came into the match following a 5-2 win. But Midfielder Luke Rooney doesn't think there is anything to shutting down an opponent after they have a big victory.

"We don't look too much into the fact that they scored seven goals last week, "Rooney said. "It's more about how we play than about them."

Added Yallop: "Football is an up and down thing and for me it's about what we do at home and how we go about. So that's what I'm working on."

Scouting Report: Saint Louis will be coming in with plenty of confidence following a 7-1 win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC. In that match two different players (Ivan Herrera and Seth Rudolph) scored braces. Herrera is the team's leading scorer with eight goals this season, but six of those goals are from just two matches. And both were against Tulsa Roughnecks FC. That said, Saint Louis has five different goal scorers with at least two goals scored this season and ten different goal scorers overall. So even if Herrera doesn't blow up, the club has plenty of other players to get a goal from.

Previous meeting: This will be the first meeting ever between the two clubs. Saint Louis FC had been in the USL Eastern Conference prior to this season. This will also be the clubs' only meeting.

Notes: Saturday night is Heroes Night at Peoria Sports Complex. Arizona United SC is honoring first responders by encouraging fans to purchase tickets online and using the coupon code "hundred" to donate money to the 100 Club of Arizona. There will also be a Police versus Fire Department soccer match before the Arizona United match at 5:30 P.M. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch the match.
