
AFL-Vet added to Spokane's offensive line

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that OL Van Nelson has been added to the 2011 roster. Nelson, 6-5 350, is entering his third season in the AFL.
In 2008, Nelson split time with the Philadelphia Soul and the Dallas Desperadoes. In 2010, Nelson returned to Dallas as a member of the Vigilantes.
"He has an enormous amount of potential," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "With his size and ability, he can make significant contributions to our offensive line. I think under Coach Crusenberry's tutelage, he can possibly become a great player in this league."
Prior to his professional career, Nelson enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career at Texas A&M -Kingsville. In each of his final two seasons, Nelson was recognized as an Honorable Mention on the All-Conference team.
