Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA (December 19, 2014) - The Arena Football League and the Philadelphia Soul have released the 2015 regular-season schedule and division alignments. The Soul will open the regular season on Sunday, March 29 with a battle against Orlando when they travel to face the Predators.
The team's home opener at the Wells Fargo Center will be on Sunday, April 12 with a re-match of the 2012 and 2013 American Conference Championship games against the Jacksonville Sharks. The team's nine-game home schedule has two Fridays, five Saturdays and two Sundays that includes visits from: Jacksonville, Cleveland, Portland, Orlando, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Tampa Bay.
"This season will bring a lot of interesting and new rivalries, but the goal remains the same - an ArenaBowl title," said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. "One of those new rivals will be with Orlando right out of the gate in Week 1, but our players will look forward to the early test. We are definitely excited to get some home cooking early with one of the best home-field advantages in the League against Jacksonville (in Week 3)."
The Soul will be in the American Conference with the Cleveland Gladiators, Jacksonville Sharks, New Orleans VooDoo, Orlando Predators and Tampa Bay Storm.
Schedule highlights include:
- Weeks 1, 7 & 12; American Conference match-ups, including the Season Opener, with the Orlando Predators
- Weeks 3, 8 & 17; Face-offs with American Conference rival, including the Home Opener against the Jacksonville Sharks
- Weeks 4, 16 & 20; Battle and playoff re-match against the rival Cleveland Gladiators
- Week 6; Face former Soul head coach Mike Hohensee and his Portland Thunder
