AF2TV.COM: For the second straight season, af2 is offering some of its games live on the Web. Access to the available games can be found on www.af2.com or www.af2tv.com. The fee is $7.95 per game. A high-speed connection is recommended.

KICKERS SHOWING SOME LEG: One week after Memphis kicker STEVEN AZAR went 4-4 on field goals and 7-of-7 on extra points, San Diego kicker KIMO NAEHU lifted the Riptide to a season-opening 58-57 win over the Birmingham Steeldogs by nailing a 37-yard field as time expired. It was his second long field goal of the quarter, as he hit a 42-yarder with just over six minutes left to play. He also split the uprights with a 23-yard shot in the first quarter to go 3-for-3 on the night. The former Hawaiian Islander also made good on 7-of-7 extra points in the game. To put it in perspective, Naehu made five field goals total last season with a long of 39 yards. In fact, PETER MARTINEZ, who led af2 kickers in points last season, only made six field goals all season. The most field goals any kicker made in a single game last season was three. Eight players accomplished that feat. So far this season there have been five kickers to hit three or more field goals in a game. As for PATs, the league averaged just over 75 percent in 2004 and is averaging 83 percent so far in 2005.

WHAT HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Home teams have struggled to a 4-10 start this season, including a 2-7 run last week. Last season home teams went 117-83 for a .585 win percentage, the worst home winning percentage since 2002.

SEASON HOME W-L-T HOME WIN %

Through two games, the speedy receiver and kick returner has scored 10 touchdowns, including eight against the Amarillo Dusters on Friday night. The eight-touchdown performance earned him Offensive Player of the Week honors and a spot in the af2 record books by becoming only the second player in league history to score eight times in one game. While Prentiss currently holds the league lead in scoring, he isn't the only one on a record pace. Tulsa's DONAVAN MORGAN has nine touchdowns through two games, including five on Saturday night against the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. SACK-MACHINE KHREEM: Week 1 ADT Defensive Player of the Week KHREEM SMITH of Memphis added to early season sack total by recording two more in Memphis' win over Amarillo Friday night. Now at 5 for the season, he is on pace to challenge the all-time single season record of 27.5 set by E.J. BURT in 2002 with the Cape Fear Wildcats.

af2 IN THE AFL: Former af2 kicker CARLOS MARTINEZ was named the AFL's kicker of the month for March. With the Dallas Desperados Martinez connected on 29-of-30 PATs while converting four-of-seven field goal attempts, including a long of 51 yards. During March, he recorded 15 touchbacks while also helping limit opponents starting field position inside the 10-yard line on 35 occasions. Through the four March games, Martinez forced three net recoveries off kickoffs in three consecutive games with each resulting in touchdowns - two net recoveries returned for scores and one leading to an offensive score. San Jose's TREMAIN MACK, who played last season for the Louisville Fire, was named AFL's rookie of the month for March. In four games, he recorded three interceptions, 20.5 tackles (including a tackle for loss), five pass breakups and a fumble recovery. Mack earned his first start on March 6 at Orlando and had 6.0 total tackles and three pass breakups en route to being named Defensive Player of the Game and, subsequently, AFL Defensive Player of the Week (Week 7). In February another former af2 player, TROY BERGERON, was named rookie of the month. On the season Bergeron has already grabbed 25 touchdown receptions, a Georgia Force franchise records for touchdown receptions in as season.
