af2 now powered by HAVOC
March 30, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release
CHICAGO - The arenafootball2 league and Havoc Distribution, Inc. have teamed up on an exclusive, multi-year partnership that designates HAVOC Energy Drink as the Official Energy Drink of arenafootball2 and its member teams. HAVOC(tm) Energy Drink will be distributed and sold as a co-branded energy drink bearing the league's and teams' trademarks and logos.
With this unique partnership agreement, the af2 will leverage existing In-Market relationships with drink distributors to support Havoc in growth of their distribution network nationwide. In 2007, the first year of this partnership, Havoc will produce and distribute HAVOC Energy Drink in a minimum 10 of the league's 30 markets.
"With energy drink sales growing at over 40% last year, we are excited about becoming a corporate partner with arenafootball2 and its member teams,'' stated C.K. Williams, Havoc's President. "We expect to energize Arena Football fans with our winning flavor and disrupt the energy drink market by providing a better product that fans will come back for over and over again.''
"As the energy drink market expands, we are positioning ourselves as partners with sports entities nationwide like the af2 in order to draw sports fans to Havoc's energy drink products," Williams continued. "We expect these important relationships to draw fans to our product and we expect our exceptional flavor to keep them coming back for more. Many professional arenas are even creating 'HAVOC Energy Zones' or HAVOC Clubs within the building.''
The partnership will deliver on both local and national levels. All participating teams will have their own team branded cans distributed into their local market place. Other marketing components include in-arena activation through dasherboards, jumbotron announcements, and various co-branded promotional opportunities both in-arena and in the local community.
"We're very pleased to announce this exciting partnership with Havoc and we feel that our avid fans will be energized by this new line of licensed consumable products for years to come," said af2 President Jerry Kurz.
af2, which just kicked off its eighth season on Thursday, March 29, is the third-longest running football league in U.S. history.
