Aeros recall Fortunus and Bararuk, reassign Rooneem

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros have recalled defenseman Maxime Fortunus and center/left wing David Bararuk from ECHL Louisiana, the teams announced Tuesday. Both players are expected to be available for Houston's Wednesday home game against Utah at 7:05 p.m. The Aeros have also reassigned left wing Mark Rooneem to ECHL Pensacola.

Fortunus, 21, totaled 24 points (8-16=24) and 26 penalty minutes in 59 games with the IceGators. He appeared in Houston's 3-2 loss to Rochester on December 2. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of La Prairie, Que., saw action in 12 games with the Aeros in 2003-04, posting two assists. In two ECHL seasons, Fortunus has 42 points (11-31=42) in 123 games.

Bararuk, 21, had a goal in seven games with the Aeros in February. He has 36 points (14-22=36) in 42 games with the IceGators. In his rookie season in 2003-04, Bararuk posted 12 points (5-7=12) in 52 games with Utah.

Rooneem, 22, appeared in one game with the Aeros in February without recording a point.
