NEW YORK â Former Indiana Firebirds quarterback and 2004 Rookie of the Year ADRIAN MC PHERSON (6-3, 189, Florida State) is expected to be selected in the 2005 NFL Draft this weekend.

In 2004, McPherson led all rookie quarterbacks in passing attempts (397), yards (3,297), touchdowns (61) and passer rating (119.6). His passer rating ranked No. 4 among all AFL quarterbacks. The former Seminole also finished No. 3 in the AFL in rushing touchdowns (19) and yards (259) on 65 attempts. His 19 rushing touchdowns were the most ever in a season by a quarterback.
"From a raw talent standpoint, he's as good as anybody I have seen," said Tampa Bay Storm assistant coach and former Indiana Firebirds head coach STEVE DE BERG. "He possesses unique skills for his age and if he is put in the right system â the sky is the limit for what he can achieve."
"He's a very good player â very quick and a hard guy to wrap up," said Nashville Kats' former Defensive Player and Lineman of the Year JAMES BARON. "He's got a strong arm and a quick release. That made him a good quarterback in the AFL and will make him a good one in the NFL, too."

"He is one of the most naturally-gifted athletes that I have come in contact with while being associated with the game of football."
