
Admirals Sign Forward Brayden Irwin to New PTO

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals have signed forward Brayden Irwin to a new Professional Tryout Contract (PTO), Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson announced today.
Irwin, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward, appeared in four games with the Admirals after being signed to a PTO on Feb. 1st. He posted two shots and two penalty minutes with an even rating. He had been released from his first PTO on Tuesday prior to being signed to a new PTO today. Irwin has played in 50 career AHL games between the Admirals and Toronto Marlies, scoring seven goals and 15 points.
The 25-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, has appeared in 38 games with the ECHL's Florida Everblades this season, scoring 14 goals and 29 points. In 75 career ECHL games between Florida and the Reading Royals, Irwin has scored 31 goals and 60 points.
Irwin made his professional debut with the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs following the conclusion of his collegiate career in 2009-10. In two games with the Maple Leafs, Irwin posted two penalty minutes.
Irwin played collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont. In 144 career collegiate games with the Catamounts, Irwin netted 38 goals and 82 points. An undrafted forward, Irwin originally signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Mar. 29, 2010.
