Lake Michigan Admirals News Release


St. Joseph, MI. - The Rochester RazorSharks improved to 10-1 with a

103-89 road win over the Lake Michigan Admirals, Saturday night

at Lake Michigan Catholic.

Rochester took advantage eleven more Lake Michigan fouls for 20

points at the line. The Admirals shot 74% but only had 10 points.

The RazorSharks out rebounded Lake Michigan 60 to 47. On the

season, Lake Michigan holds the edge.

Tenacious defense by both teams kept a lid on the field goals as both

teams shot 39.8%. Rochester took 5 more shots and made two of

those for the difference in the game.

The RazorSharks used a 15-4 run in the first quarter, jumping to a

28-17 lead. The second quarter belonged to Tyc Snow, point guard

of the Admirals, with 3 three-pointers and 13 points. Lake Michigan

was within four at halftime 51-47.

Florentino Valencia, the Admirals leading scorer, kept the game close

with 13 points in the third. Rochester led 78-73.

The fourth started back and fourth until Rochester used a 15-4

run to stretch their lead to 14. Lake Michigan pulled to within seven

with 2:52 left before Rochester went into the bonus, making

10 of 12 against the Admirals' one of two.

Snow led Lake Michigan with 22 points. Valencia followed with

a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Steve Strong

had 20 points and Shagari Alleyne had 14 points with a season

high seven blocked shots.

Rochester placed five players in double figures in a balanced

attack. Jamaal Davis, Aaron Williams, and Todd McCoy had

18. Williams and Davis both had double doubles with 12 and

10 respectively. Tasheed Carr added 17 and Jerice Crouch had 15.

The Admirals fall to 0-7 and face Grand Rapids Sunday in a

non-conference game. Tip-off is at 3:00pm at Michigan Lutheran.
