San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC defeated Atlanta United 2 tonight 5-0, with the five-goal outburst tying for the second-most goals in a single match. Santiago Patiño and Samuel Adeniran each tallied braces in the win, marking a first for the club.
San Antonio struck first with a pair of goals just three minutes apart. Samuel Adeniran scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Connor Maloney, before Santiago Patiño scored in the 16th minute on a pass from PC.
Patiño struck again the 33rd minute, drawing a foul in the box and converting the ensuing penalty to make it a 3-0 SAFC lead.
Adeniran got his second goal of the night in the 53rd minute, heading in a long cross from Mohammed Abu to make it a 4-0 lead.
Adeniran and Patiño have combined for eight goals in the six matches since June 11, when Patiño made his first appearance after an injury and Adeniran made his first start for the team.

Quotes:
Head Coach Alen Marcina
(On the win...)
"I thought we dominated from start to finish. Our pressing action is fantastic, it
made it incredibly difficult for them to build and push numbers forward. You've got to connect a couple passes to then take advantage of pushing numbers forward, but we didn't allow them to do that. I think it is unfortunate and so obviously good to score 5 goals, but I think we could have put multiple [additional] goals away. Got to be a little better on those final actions, but all in all very positive. Proud of the guys, it's 3 points against a young talented team."
Forward Santiago Patino
(On working back from an early-season injury...)
"For me, the injury at the beginning of the season threw me off a little bit, but you
know it's in the past and now I am working hard to do what I love to do - to score goals, attack, and help the team and little by little I am feeling like myself again. I am feeling better and now I just want to keep building."
Forward Samuel Adeniran
(On where he fits into the team...)
"To be honest I think I am just another one of the guys and just, you know, we all fit in different ways. The way I fit in best is running in behind and, you know, holding the ball up and obviously arriving in the box. Another thing is we play with three strikers we have to move around and switch around all the time, but I think the good thing is you know we can all play in those different positions. I can play in the center, Santi[ago Patiño] can play in the center, Justin [Dhillon] can play in the center and Nacho [Ignacio Bailone] as well, so I think it makes it easy for us to move around."
