Additional Replacements Announced for 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game
February 14, 2013 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
HOUSTON, Feb. 14, 2013 - Two additional top prospects were today announced as replacements in the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game, which will air live on NBA TV at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Sprint Arena at NBA All-Star Jam Session at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center. Justin Dentmon (Texas Legends) and Travis Leslie (Santa Cruz Warriors) will replace Cory Joseph (Austin Toros) and Andrew Goudelock (Rio Grande Valley Vipers), who are both unable to play due to injury, on the Prospects Team.
Leslie (6-4, 205, Georgia), who becomes the first Warrior to be named an NBA D-League All-Star, is averaging 16.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 27.8 minutes in 21 games, 17 as a starter. He has scored more than 20 points in six games, including two outings where he tallied 30 or more points. Originally selected in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, Leslie was a first round selection in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft by the Warriors.
Dentmon (6-0, 95, Washington), returns to NBA D-League All-Star action having played in the game last season. Dentmon, who was traded to the Legends from the Austin Toros earlier this year, is averaging 25.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 37.3 minutes in 11 games for Texas. Dentmon is the reigning NBA D-League MVP, and a member of the 2012 NBA D-League Champion Toros squad.
The original 20 NBA D-League All-Stars were selected by a vote of the League's 16 head coaches.
The seventh annual NBA D-League All-Star Game will be preceded by the 2013 Boost Mobile NBA D-League Three Point Contest, and will host the Boost Mobile NBA D-League Slam Dunk Contest during halftime of the game.
