Montreal - Montreal Alouettes linebacker Adarius Pickett has been named among the players of the week in the CFL.

The Berkeley, CA native was a force to reckon with for to the REDBLACKS offence last Friday in Ottawa. The 26-year-old earned 10 defensive tackles, one on special teams, and also forced a fumble that he returned for a 16-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

The Alouettes trailed 24-17 in the first half of the game, before dominating the third and fourth quarters by scoring 17 points, and allowing only six. Pickett and the Alouettes' defence were all over Bob Dyce's offensive unit.

The Alouettes will play their next game on Saturday, October 22 at 4 p.m. against the Toronto Argonauts at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.

Adarius Pickett was chosen by a panel of judges made up of Matt Dunigan and Marshall Ferguson of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS, who independently send their selections to the CFL head office.
