Memphis Xplorers News Release
The Memphis Xplorers are pleased to announce that WR/DB Terrell Adams has signed a contract with the AFL Philadelphia Soul.
Adams, a 5'9", 182-pound two-way player, was a key receiver for the Xplorers last season, pulling in 93 catches for 1,081 yards and 15 touchdowns during the season. Adams also returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown and had several returns off of missed field goals. Adams, who attended Mississippi Valley State, should be an impact player at the AFL level, according to Xplorers head coach Danton Barto.
"Terrell played wonderfully for us last year," said Barto, "and he has a chance to shine in the AFL. He can really make a name for himself with the expansion Philadelphia Soul."
Adams is the latest of several Memphis Xplorers from 2003 to be signed to AFL contracts.
The Memphis Xplorers will announce several key player assignments in the lead-up to the start of training camp, which will begin March 16, as the team prepares for their most successful season in franchise history.
The Xplorers will also hold open tryouts for all interested football players above the age of 18. Prospects will be asked to participate in several football drills, including the 40-yard dash and the shuttle. The tryouts, which will be held December 13 at Dulins Sports Academy, require a $50 registration fee to attend. The registration form can be found at www.Xplorersaf2.com.
