San Diego Surf Dawgs News Release

SAN DIEGO, CALIF July 12, 2005- Adam Johnson, San Diego Surf Dawgs right hander, was selected as California Division Pitcher of the Week. Johnson, 25 years old, was 1-0 pitching 13 innings in his two starts last week. He gave up three earned runs, struck out 17 and only walked two. The two-year major leaguer, and former first round pick of the Minnesota Twins out of Cal State Fullerton, raised his record to a perfect 3-0 overall as the Surf Dawgs extended their lead in the Division to six games.

Johnson is second in the Golden Baseball League with a 2.50 ERA. In thirty six innings, he has only given up thirty two hits, walked fourteen batters and has forty one strikeouts. The Surf Dawgs are proud of Adam what his accomplishments so far and hope for more of the same results as the playoffs are only a month and a half away. He has been a tremendous asset to the team on the field as well as in locker room, because of his prior major league experience.

"The Surf Dawgs are hoping that the Major League teams are looking Johnson's way because he has the talent and makeup to pitch at the highest level.
