Aces' Tyler Vail Named TCL Co-Pitcher of the Week

Alexandria, LA; June 27, 2012 - The Texas Collegiate League (TCL) has announced that recently signed pitcher, Tyler Vail was recently named Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performances this past week.

Tyler, a 6'1," 230 lbs. right-hander from Temple, Texas pitched a scoreless inning-plus of relief early in the week upon his recent signing with the Aces, then proceeded to start the Sunday, June 24th game against the McKinney Marshals. Vail threw 7 scoreless innings in a 10-4 win and also struck out 10 that evening without walking anyway and scattering 5 hits.

The Temple Junior College pitcher finished the week throwing 8 1/3 scoreless innings, while walking just one opponent. Tyler is also the brother of current Aces' catcher, Garrett Vail.

After a slow start, the Aces have won 6 of 9 as the first-half nearly winds down. The Aces last home games of the first half are this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All Aces' home games start at 7:00 p.m. with the front gates opening at 6:30.
