Aces Acquire Tyler Shattock from K-Wings

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Aces have acquired forward Tyler Shattock from the Kalamazoo Wings for forward Justin Breton.

Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Tuesday.

Shattock, 26, has played in 37 games in Kalamazoo this season, scoring seven goals and adding 16 assists for 23 points and 16 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 210 pound forward was a 2009-4th round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues and has experience in the AHL with Peoria, Chicago and Worcester as well as ECHL stops in Evansville, Stockton and Kalamazoo. Shattock, a native of Salmon Arm, BC, has been an assistant captain of the K-Wings the past season and a half.

Breton, 27, has been with the Aces for the past two and a half seasons. He's scored 40 goals with 36 assists for 76 points and 42 penalty minutes. At the end of last season Justin earned an AHL call-up to Manitoba and played in three games.

-Forward Peter Sivak will participate in the ECHL All-Star Game skills competition "Hardest Shot". Sivak will also be a starter for the All-Stars as they take on the homestanding Adirondack Thunder Wednesday in Glens Falls, New York.

-Aces professional power skating instructor Laura Stamm

has been named the recipient of the 2017 Bob Perani Lifetime Achievement Award. Stamm has been coaching hockey players for more than 45 years. She is recognized as the pioneer of modern power skating in North America. The first woman ever to coach a major league professional hockey player, Stamm showed the hockey world how important skating technique is to a hockey player's success.

Stamm has taught at hockey schools throughout the United States, Canada and Europe since 1973. She has personally trained and certified her own team of instructors who teach her Power Skating System worldwide.

The Bob Perani Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at the 28th Annual Let's Play Hockey Expo in St. Paul, Minn., on March 10, 2017.
