FC Cincinnati News Release
The FC Cincinnati Academy's U13 and U14 squads head to Kansas City, Missouri for the 2022 Patterson Cup. The event takes place from June 8-12 at Swope Soccer Village, and features 16 MLS academies in the U13 and U14 age groups.
The Patterson Cup returns in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19. The inaugural Patterson Cup took place in March 2019 with six MLS academies squaring off at the U12 level. The 2022 edition adds two age groups and three times as many MLS academies from the United States and Canada.
"We're looking forward to the event and challenging our young players versus other MLS and high level academies over the next four days," said U13 Head Coach Adrian Parrish. "The boys have had a great season and this will be the perfect way to wrap it up."
Games during the group stage, played Wednesday, June 8 and Thursday June 9, are 50 minutes in length. Following the group stage, the Orange and Blue will have Friday off before resuming action with to-be-determined fixtures Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 based on group stage results.
