ABA presented key to the city by Gallup mayor

Gallup, NM. In a gesture of support and anticipation, Bob Rosebrough, Mayor of Gallup, presented the Key to the City to Gallup Talons' owner Joseph Kolb, January 10th, to present to the ABA at its upcoming 2005 Team Owners' Meeting in Indianapolis on January 22nd. "I'd like you to pass this key to the city on to the ABA," said Rosebrough. "Sports can galvanize a community and basketball has done that in the past here in Gallup. There is an air of excitement about the league coming to Gallup and I look forward to being at the first game," said Rosebrough.
At the press conference, Kolb introduced the Talon logo to the regional press and fielded questions regarding tryouts, ticket prices and sponsorships.
Outgoing County Commissioner Harry Mendoza unveiled the results of the recently completed feasibility study for a general purpose auditorium that would be a joint project between McKinley and the City of Gallup. Three potential locations were revealed within the city where the approximately 5000 seat facility would be located. Also attending the meeting were members of Gallup's city council whyo expressed their support and enthusiasm for the project. "The league wants to see this team succeed," said Kolb. "We want this teamn to succeed. The Talons will be just one more jewel in an already great city." Kolb will present the Key to the City of Gallup to ABA League CEO Joe Newman at the team owners meeting.
