\'Ants Travel to Lexington Sunday

TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts (2-5) will hit the road this weekend as they take on the Lexington Horsemen (4-3) at historic Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on Sunday, May 15th starting at 3:00pm CST.

The FireAnts are currently riding a one-game winning streak after defeating the Tennessee Valley Raptors (2-4), 43-24, in Tupelo last Friday night. Against the

Raptors, FireAnts quarterback Tommy Miller completed 20 of 28 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns. The FireAnts defensive unit also managed to pull in three interceptions thanks to the efforts of Ricky Franklin, Kevin Redd and Tyson Patterson, with Patterson's pick returned for a touchdown.

This week, Head Coach John Fourcade continues to retool and improve the FireAnts roster. Fourcade has added two new wide receivers to the lineup including Adrian Cockfield from the South Georgia Wildcats (af2) along with Redrick Jones who played with the Columbus Wardogs (af2).

The Lexington Horsemen come into Sunday's game after falling to the Ohio Valley Greyhounds (3-4), 43-26, on the road in Wheeling, West Virginia, last Friday night.

This is the second meeting between the Ants and Horsemen, with Lexington coming out on top on 49-37 in Tupelo to start the 2005 UIF season. For more information about FireAnts Football, please call (662) 620-BITE.
