Harrisburg Heat News Release
HARRISBURG, PA, Nov. 11, 2013 - The first weekend of the Harrisburg Heat's second season in the PASL started with a stunning overtime victory Saturday night at Detroit and ended less than 24 hours later with a deflating loss at Cleveland.
Saturday's 8-7 victory over the Waza in Detroit came against the Professional Arena Soccer League's defending Eastern Division champions. Sunday's 11-3 loss came against the first-year Freeze.
The Heat's next game comes this Saturday, Nov. 16, in their home opener - also against Detroit - at the Equine Arena in the State Farm Complex & Expo Center.
Some other notes on both the Heat and the PASL:
-- Mitchell "Tank" Walters, a second-year pro out of Hummelstown and Lower Dauphin High School, scored a career-high three goals in Saturday's victory at Detroit. He is one goal shy of matching his total last season in 11 games.
-- David Schofield's goal 16 seconds into the third quarter on Saturday was the fastest goal scored by a Heat player to start a quarter since the Heat returned last season to pro indoor soccer.
-- Defending PASL champion San Diego finally lost a game, dropping their season opener Saturday to Dallas 5-3 in a decision that snapped the Sockers' 46-game winning streak.
