Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Rookie forward Jasmine Hassell has been re-signed by the Fever as a replacement player for Friday's season-opening game against the San Antonio Silver Stars.
Hassell was the Fever's second-round draft pick (21st overall), but waived in camp Wednesday. Due to Indiana missing three players to injury and a fourth, rookie first-rounder Layshia Clarendon, attending college graduation, the Fever was granted the replacement player to enable nine active players.
She averaged 3.0 points and 10.5 minutes per game through two preseason games, both also against San Antonio. Hassell will be in uniform when the Fever and Silver Stars meet for the third time in two weeks.
