Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

The Binghamton Mets have filled out their full-time employee roster with a set of new faces: Community Relations Director Amy Fancher, Special Events Coordinator Erica Mincher and Director of Video Production Jon Cofer.

The new Community Relations Director is Amy Fancher. She is no stranger to the organization, as she started as a concession stand worker in 2004 and has worked her way up. She grew up in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 2003. Wanting to stay in the area, she attended Binghamton University and received a Bachelor's Degree in English in December 2006. During her junior and senior years, she interned in the sports department of the Press & Sun Bulletin and the Binghamton University Athletic Department. While she learned a lot from her time at the Press & Sun, she decided she wanted to work in either college athletics or for a professional organization.

After taking a semester off, Amy enrolled in SUNY Cortland's Sport Management Graduate Program in August of 2007. Upon completing the program in May 2008, she spent her summer as an event management intern at Binghamton University and continued to work with the Binghamton Mets. Throughout the summer, she became very interested in a full-time position with the Mets and was thrilled when she was asked to become part of the front office staff. She is looking forward to the challenges of her new position and the upcoming season. Jon has been hired as the Director of Video Production. He is also familiar with B-Mets Baseball; Jon completed a season long video internship as part of his curriculum at Clarion University of Pennsylvania last season. He graduated in Summa Cum Laude in May '08 with a degree in Mass Media Arts & Journalism. Jon relocated from his home town of State College, PA and now lives in the Greater Binghamton area. Prior to joining the Binghamton Mets, Jon gained experience in video production through part-time work with Penn State Athletics, which he began in high school, classes, and activities at Clarion University, and from various independent projects.

Erica Mincher was named the newest Special Event Coordinator with the team. Erica, a huge sports fan, is very excited about the upcoming '09 season and working with B-Mets fans. Erica's passion for sports grew out of her competitive soccer experiences; she began playing when she was eight and has continued to play through her collegiate years. Erica earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a minor in Marketing from the University at Buffalo, and most recently graduated from Canisius College with a Masters in Sport Administration.

Erica's parents and older sister reside in Halfmoon, NY just north of Albany; her older brother lives in a town near Boston, Massachusetts. Erica reports that she is very close with her siblings and in fact, each of them attended the University of Buffalo. In her spare time, she still enjoys playing co-ed soccer here in Binghamton, spending time with her boyfriend EJ, shopping, and of course, watching sports! Erica is very excited about this opportunity and looks forward to meeting all of you at a game this season.

The B-Mets open the 2009 campaign on the road against the New York Yankees' double-A club and defending Eastern League Champions, the Trenton Thunder, on April 8th. The B-Mets return home on April 16th at 6:35 PM for their first home game. Tickets are on sale now at the NYSEG Stadium Box Office, B-Mets' store at the Oakdale Mall or online at www.bmets.com.
