CHARLESTON, SC -- Charleston RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols has announced that Noel Blaha will serve as the assistant director of media relations and host of the pregame and postgame radio show.

"Noel Blaha comes to the RiverDogs with a wealth of experience for someone his age and we're excited to have him join our staff," said Echols. "We received a lot of applications for this position, and the fact that he has spent time in Charleston is a bonus.

"I am very excited to be joining an organization with such a great reputation both in the sports world an in the Charleston community," said Blaha. "I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the upcoming season."

A 2001 graduate of Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA who earned his master's degree in sports administration from Bowling Green State University, Blaha is no stranger to the Charleston area having served as an account executive with the South Carolina Stingrays, Charleston's professional hockey team. He also worked as a game-day operations assistant with the Charleston Swamp Foxes of the Arena2 League.

He comes to the RiverDogs having spent time as a communications and sales associate with the Des Moines Menace of the United Soccer League and as the manager of ticket operations with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the US Hockey League.

Blaha also has experience as a television sportscaster for the BCSN (Buckeye Cable Sports Network) in Toledo, OH and with WFOB radio in Bowling Green, OH. Additionally, he spent time with the Toledo Mud Hens as their public address announcer and TV production assistant.
