Loudoun Hounds News Release

Dulles, VA - February 14, 2011 -- The Loudoun Hounds Professional Baseball Club is proud to announce that approximately 9,800 fans attended yesterday ‚¬â„¢s Inaugural FanFest held at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia.

‚¬Å“We knew this event was going to be big, but this exceeded our expectations, ‚¬Â said Bob Farren, President and CEO of the Hounds. ‚¬Å“The response from the community was amazing and I am very proud of the introduction of the 'Hounds Way' to our fans. We are ecstatic with the enthusiasm of Loudoun County and fans from as far away Lancaster, Pa. and Virginia Beach who attended the FanFest. This was the Hounds ‚¬â„¢ first sellout and it was spectacular. ‚¬Â

The FanFest was a huge fan rally for the Hounds fans. Among the many highlights were the attendance of baseball stars Frank Howard, Boog Powell, Bobby Richardson, Tommy John, Cecil Fielder, Otis Nixon, Tippy Martinez, Chris Hoiles, Ryan Minor, Mike Colangelo, Ellie Rodriguez, Dick Such, Pete Sierra, Michael Young, Scott McGregor, Ron Hansen, Fred Valentine and Nationals ‚¬â„¢ assistant general manager Bryan Minniti. The players shared amazing baseball stories with hosts Phil Wood and Johnny Holliday and signed thousands of autographs for the Hounds ‚¬â„¢ fans all day long. The Hounds also unleashed the team's mascot Fetch - a name submited by little Ayla Shapario of Loudoun County.

‚¬Å“My family and I had a great time at FanFest, ‚¬Â said Loudoun County resident Stacey Welz. ‚¬Å“My children and I loved listening to the stories from the players, Fetch being unveiled and all the great family entertainment. Equally important, the Hounds ‚¬â„¢ staff was helpful, friendly and made the experience even better. ‚¬Â

Farren concluded, ‚¬Å“This was the first of many great days for the Loudoun Hounds. We look forward to being a part of the community and continuing these great experiences for our fans and corporate partners. ‚¬Â
