Ottawa 67's News Release

Scoring just a minute-and-twenty-three seconds into the first period, the Petes brought the pressure on early. It wouldn't last long with the 67's scoring five minutes later to tie, and twice more in the second period to take the lead 3-1.

Peterborough wouldn't give up the game easily however, scoring with just over seven minutes to go. With a 67's player in the penalty box and the Petes' goalie on the bench, the last minute and a half of the game saw intense six-on-four action - and drew gasps from the crowd with every Peterborough shot on goal.

In the end, the 67's third goal, scored by no. 4, Carnevale - on a breakaway, would be the game winning goal with a final score of 3-2.

Above: Carnevale and his teammates celebrate the goal.

With a goal and an assist, no. 27, Corey Cowick also had a great night - and not just on the ice: Corey (shown below) joined Riley Sonnenberg and Brian Birkhoff in being nominated for OHL academic awards.

Tonight's game sponsor was Cadbury, and during the intermission three honorary Cadbury bunnies hopped across the ice to win cuddly Cadbury bunnies. The bunnies are pictured below, hugging their prizes!

And remember, this Sunday's game is the big one - Killer's final regular-season game behind the bench. Don't miss this historic event and a chance to honour the legend, when your Ottawa 67's take on the Kingston Frontenacs at 2 p.m.
