67's take down Tavares, Knight
February 2, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
What Super Bowl? It was all about hockey today at the Civic Centre where your Ottawa 67's defeated the Midwest division leaders, the London Knights. Even John Tavares couldn't outshine Nigro, Couture, and a hard-hitting 67's team!
After a scoreless first period, the goals came fast, first by Ottawa, then by London. The teams took turns scoring, but in the end the 67's came out on top, with a 4-3 final score. It was close game all the way through, with the fourth, and game-winning goal, scored with just under three minutes to play.
Boos echoed in the building as some fans didn't agree with the referee's calls. During the third period's Denny's chicken dance, fans in section 21 sang 'Hey ref you suck!' along with the music.
Pictured below, during the second period, fans started the wave in section 17. It went around the arena three times at full strength, even catching the attention of the players.
