Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release

On February 7th, over a hundred different players from all around brought their best game to tryouts for the new IFL team, the Corpus Christi Hammerheads. The tryout was very intense and involved several different mobility and agility tests.

After hours of consideration of the tryout performance and the players past record on the field, 19 players were invited to another tryout on April 3rd.

"Although there was lots of talent in the players trying out, it takes a specific type of player for professional indoor football," state Coach Jimmy Dunn.

Among those called back are: Darrell Cowley, Roy Silas, Jerome Smith, Calvin Williams, Chad Mitchell, Iran Hodge, Chase Sugarek, Teddy Carrier, Chad Smithy, Kevin Lemon, Tyre Post, Jessie Wolfe, Bobby Ray Harris, Pablo Perez, Oscar Ozuna, and Johnny Smith.

These players will be tested once again in an even more strenuous tryout on April 3rd as Coach Jimmy Dunn begins to narrow his players for the 2004 season.

"With the talent we have already seen, this is going to be a great inaugural season for the Hammerheads," stated owner Chad Dittman, "We can not wait until the kick off of our first game."
