Snohomish County Explosion News Release
MONROE, Wash. - May 1, 2008 - The Snohomish County Explosion Basketball Team faces a serious road test with back to back games this weekend. On Friday night, the team travels to Tacoma, who has provided the Explosion with all they can handle, with two victories by an average margin of just eight points. Jamaal Miller and Donald Watts led the way in the first victory, which was the more comfortable of the two. In the second contest, it went right down to the wire, with the Explosion led once again by Watts and shooting guard Chris Weakley. The Jazz were then led in both games by power forward Alex Adediran.
Saturday night should be a barn burner with the instant rival Bellingham Slam hosting the Explosion for one last time during the regular season. Ryan Diggs and Jacob Stevenson have proved to be a thorn in the side of the Explosion all year, and this weekend should be no different. The trio of Watts, Miller, and Weakley have had great success against the Slam so far, and the additions of Justin White, Troy Gywnn, and Greg Hendricks could make this the game of the year so far in the IBL.
There is no love lost between these two teams who have battled to the last second in all three contests so far. The Explosion will be looking to even the season series with a win on Saturday.
