5th-Annual Training Camp Details & Roster Announced

Flint Firebirds News Release
Flint, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds Hockey Club announced today the details for the club's fifth-annual training camp to be held this Monday, Aug. 26 through Wednesday, Aug. 28 at the Firebirds' official practice facility, Flint Iceland Arenas on Elms Rd. in Clayton Township. The opening of training camp gives fans their first chance to watch the Firebirds in action with all practices and scrimmages being FREE and open to the public.
Fans are encouraged to attend the Firebirds' fifth-annual Blue vs. White game on Wednesday, Aug 28. The main event takes place from 6-7:30 p.m. at Iceland Arenas and admission is free to the public.
Flint will welcome 48 skaters to Flint, which includes a record 19 returning Firebirds' players, for fitness testing, on-ice practices and scrimmages. Along with the signed Firebirds' skaters and invited free agents, eight players with NHL ties will be in attendance including Dennis Busby (Arizona Coyotes), Ty Dellandrea (Dallas Stars), Ethan Keppen (Vancouver Canucks), Vladislav Kolyachonok (Florida Panthers), Riley McCourt (Dallas Stars Camp '18), Cody Morgan (Detroit Red Wings Camp '19), Evgeniy Oksentyuk (Montreal Canadiens Camp '19) and Connor Roberts (Pittsburgh Penguins Camp '18).
Additionally, newly drafted prospects from the 2019 OHL Priority Selection and 2019 U-18 Priority Selection, prospects from previous OHL Priority Selections, CHL Import Drafts, as well as free agent invites will be in attendance. There will be three teams: Team Blue, Team Grey and Team White.

Tuesday, August 27th:

10:00am - Team Blue vs. Team Grey Game (Iceland Arenas)
5:00pm - Team Blue Practice (Iceland Arenas)
6:00pm - Team White vs. Team Grey Game (Iceland Arenas)
Wednesday, August 28th:
9:00am - Team Grey Practice (Iceland Arenas)
10:00am - Team White vs. Team Blue Game (Iceland Arenas)
6:00pm - Blue vs. White Game (Iceland Arenas)
Following training camp, the Firebirds will begin their first-of-four preseason games Saturday, Aug. 31 on the road against the Guelph Storm at 7 p.m. (ET). Flint will host in-state rival Saginaw Spirit for the Firebirds' lone home preseason game at Iceland Arenas on Saturday, Sep. 14th. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (ET).
