Edmonton Chill News Release

Coming off a weekend demolition of the Central Oregon Hotshots, the Edmonton Chill returned to the court and got all they could handle from a road-weary Jazz of Tacoma but came away with their third straight win 118-112 in front of 1015 screaming fans.

Despite arriving on the bus from Tacoma early this afternoon, the Jazz showed great energy early as the raced out to a 13-3 lead and controlled the game in the early going and led 33-23 after 12 minutes. The home-side however found their legs in the second quarter and rallied behind Steve Sirs 11 points and dropped 38 points in the quarter to take a 61-59 lead into the half.

The Chill came out of the locker room with tons of energy and Tacoma began to feel all the travel as Andrew Parker paced the Chill with 9 points in the quarter. The Chill used the Andrew's energy, which included a highlight dunk and an alley-oop from Rashaun Broadus to pull away with a 12 point bulge, 98-86, after three quarters. The Jazz would not go away though as Anton Jones busted out with nine points to help Tacoma close to within four at 114-110. The Chill was able to withstand the push and salt this one away at the line with Teon Knox hitting two late to ice the game.

The Chill was led on the scorer`s sheet by JR Patrick with 19, Stephen Sir and Teon Knox each chipped in 18, and Rashaun Broadus dropped 14 to go with eight assists and four steals.

The same two teams meet again Saturday night with a 7:11 tip at the Grant MacEwan gym.
