26 players attend Kentucky Reach's tryouts

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (April 9, 2005) -- Twenty-six players attended open tryouts for the World Basketball Association's Kentucky Reach on Friday and Saturday at Severns Valley Baptist Church's Christian Life Center, and five players impressed the Reach's advisory staff enough warrant contract offers.

The Reach staff prefers not to name the players offered contracts until the deals are complete.

The 26 attendees:

- Adrian Armstead (a 6-foot-2, 185-pound who played at Vincennes)

- George Baker (a 6-3, 210-pound guard who played at Georgetown College and DePaul)

- Andrew Brooks (a 6-foot, 155-pound guard)

- Nicholas Cheney (a 6-7, 220-pound swingman who played at Minnesota-Duluth)

- Damon Garris (a 6-3, 220-pound guard who played at Kentucky Wesleyan)

- Josh Grant (a 6-10, 245-pound center wo played at Geogetown College and Winthrop)

- Timothy Gray (a 6-5, 245-pound swingman who played at Spalding)

- Chester Hager (a 6-foot, 195-pound guard who played at Asbury)

- Dee Hardin (a 5-5, 135-pound guard who played at Lindsey Wilson)

- Sherman Holland (a 6-foot, 205-pound guard who played at Essex J.C.)

- Jarrell Jones (a 6-foot, 155-pound guard who played at Pikeville)

- Terry Klemett (a 5-9, 165-pound guard who played at Ironwood J.C.)

- Mike Kuhn (a 6-8, 200-pound forward who played at Kentucky State)

- Anthony Love (a 6-4, 220-pound swingman who played at Jefferson Davis C.C.)

- Chez Marks (a 6-3, 170-pound guard who played at Morehead State)

- Bronson Parker (a 6-5, 235-pound swingman who played at Walters State C.C.)

- Daniel Price (a 6-2, 190-pound guard who played at Pikeville)

- Kenneth Purnell (a 6-0, 175-guard who played at Shenandoah)

- Lamar Rice (a 6-7, 215-pound swingman who played at Georgetown College and Clemson)

- James Robards (a 6-2, 160-pound guard who played at Kentucky Wesleyan)

- Terrell Ross (a 6-4, 195-pound guard who played at Texas)

- Marshall Sanders (a 6-7, 260-pound forward for played at Kentucky Wesleyan and Mississippi State)

- Kelcey Scott (a 6-2, 220-pound guard who played at West Florida)

- Chris Shumate (a 6-6, 225-pound swingman who played at Murray State)

- Peter Walker (a 6-7, 200-pound swingman who played at Wittenberg)

- Chris Williams (a 6-2, 215-pound guard who played at Campbellsville)

- Stephen Woodson (a 6-foot, 195 pound guard)

The Reach open their second season at 7 p.m. (EST) April 22 against the Magic City (Birmingham, Ala.) Court Kings at the 4,008-seat Bruin Gym at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia, Ky. The first-year Court Kings are led by former UAB player Donnell Taylor.
