
Magic City Court Kings Announce Draft Picks

Conyers Court Kings News Release
The World Basketball Association held its Second Annual College Draft, Sunday, April 10, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Macon, Georgia.
Birmingham's own Magic City Court Kings had great success. The Court Kings traded its first and second round to the Rome Gladiators to take their first round pick, Kenyon Gamble, a 7'0 Forward/Center from Tuskegee University. In the third, fourth and fifth round the Court Kings chose home. Former Homewood High graduate, James Gardner, a 6'5 Guard from University of Alabama in Huntsville was the third round pick. Fourth round pick former Pleasant Grove High graduate, D.J. Towns, 6'2 Guard from University of Montevallo. Steven Koger, 6'4 Guard of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from Louisville, Kentucky was the fifth round pick. In the sixth round, the Magic City Court Kings selected All SEC performer Earnest Shelton, 6'3 Guard/Forward from University of Alabama. The Court Kings went back to the trading board with South Carolina Heat for their sixth round pick, for a future draft pick to secure Caleb Kennedy, 6'7 Forward/Center of University of Montevallo and graduate of John Carroll Catholic High completed sealing the deal for the Magic City Court Kings.
Also, Joseph King, 6'7 Forward from Miles College and Miami, Florida native and Donnell Taylor, 6'6 Guard of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama native has been allocated to the Magic City Court Kings.
Sunday, April 10th was a magical day for the Magic City Court Kings, free agent camp tryouts were held at Lawson State Community College. Thanks to all the men who came out to help make this camp a success and good luck to all who participated in the camp. A special thanks to Lawson State Community College and media attendees. Get ready for tip off April 30, 2005.
