Decatur Court Kings Sign Draft Pick Anthony Bankhead

May 4, 2010 - World Basketball Association (WBA)
Conyers Court Kings News Release

The Decatur Court Kings have signed second-round draft pick Anthony Bankhead in preparation for the upcoming World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) season.

The Court Kings are gearing up for the 2010 season and are looking to regain their championship form from 2008. They started building their roster when Bankhead, along with 30 other players from around the country, converged on Lawrenceville, Ga. for the WBA free agent camp and draft last month. Bankhead, a 5-foot-11 point guard, emerged from the camp as the first choice of the second round of the draft and later came to terms with the Court Kings.

The WBA is in its seventh season and has already put hundreds of players in position to play in the NBA, NBDL, CBA, and overseas. One of the many success stories of the WBA is Jamario Moon of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who honed his skills in the WBA for the Rome Gladiators.

The Court Kings' season kicks off May 14 as they host the Jacksonville BlueWaves at Agnes Scott College in Decatur. Tipoff for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m. For more information about the Decatur Court Kings and the WBA, go to www.wbacourtkings.com or www.wbaball.net.
