
20th season kicks off with week one attendance increase

NEW YORK - Total attendance for the first week of the AFL's 20th Season was up 20 percent vs. Week 1 of the 2005 season and the average attendance was up six percent.
The total attendance for Week 1 was 114,044, which ranked fifth all time and was up 20 percent vs. 2005's Week 1 total of 95,312. There are 18 teams competing in the AFL this season compared to 17 in 2005.

The average attendance for the first week of the AFL's 20th Season was 12,672, up six percent compared to 2005's first week of 11,914. The defending champion Colorado Crush posted the highest figure of Week 1 with 14,832 fans in attendance.
