2019 PGCBL All-Star Game Rosters Announced

July 8, 2019 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) News Release

The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) is pleased to announce the rosters for the 2019 PGCBL All-Star Game. The ninth PGCBL All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16 at Cantine Field, home of the Saugerties Stallions. The All-Star Game will be divided between the East Division (Albany, Amsterdam, Glens Falls, Mohawk Valley, Oneonta, and Saugerties), and the West Division (Adirondack, Elmira, Geneva, Newark, Utica, Watertown).

This season marks the first time the All-Star Game will be played in Saugerties, with a capacity crowd expected at Cantine Field. The PGCBL's midsummer classic was played in Elmira last season, when the West Division picked up a 8-5 victory for their first ever win. Alex O'Donnell (Mercyhurst) was last season's All-Star Game Most Valuable Player.

PGCBL All-Stars are nominated and selected by coaches of the teams in the East and West, respectively. Coaches selected two catchers, nine infielders, seven outfielders, and ten pitchers to play in the game.

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs lead all teams in the East Division with seven All-Star selections, including three starters. Second baseman Justin Guerrera (Fairfield), outfielder Dylan Klock (St. Thomas Aquinas), and outfielder Nick Cimillo (Manhattan) will start on the East Side.

Following Mohawk Valley, Albany and Saugerties will have six selections each. Albany's representatives include starters Aaron Roose (Azusa Pacific) and Justin Bench (Ole Miss), while the host Stallions will send pitcher Lane Miller (Indiana State) to the mound to start the game, as well as outfielder Tyler Kelder (St. Bonaventure).

The first place Amsterdam Mohawks will have five players on the All-Star roster, with two - JD Mundy (Radford) and Maxwell Costes (Maryland) starting in Saugerties. The East Division roster is rounded out by two selections each from the Glens Falls Dragons and Oneonta Outlaws.

In the West Division, the Utica Blue Sox lead the way with seven All-Star selections. Three position players - Matt Parkinson (College of Charleston), Luis DeLeon (Central Alabama CC), and Tyler Simon (Kennesaw State) will find themselves in the starting lineup for the West.

Three teams- the Adirondack Trail Blazers, Geneva Red Wings, and the Newark Pilots - will send five players each to the All-Star Game. Adirondack's delegation will be led by starting outfielder Kevin Ferrer (UConn), while the other two outfielders - Over Torres (Bethune-Cookman) and Allen Murphy (St. John Fisher) will come from Newark, as will third baseman Dylan Duplechain (Mississippi College).

Four players from the Elmira Pioneers - including the game's starting pitcher Noah Rubino (Siena) - will join the roster, as will two players from the Watertown Rapids.
