February 9, 2016 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Princeton WhistlePigs News Release
Princeton, WV- The Princeton Rays are proud to announce that the Mercer Cup will make appearances at Princeton businesses upon request.
The Mercer Cup serves as a vital link between the Princeton Rays and Bluefield Blue Jays. As the winners of the Cup in the 2015 season series between the two teams, the Rays feel it is appropriate to share the victory with the community as the 2016 season approaches.
Each business will host the Cup for up to three days allowing fans from across the area to view a physical display of the fun-filled and hard-fought rivalry between the Princeton and Bluefield franchises.
While viewing the Mercer Cup, fans will also be encouraged to toss a business card or their personal contact information into the Cup entering them for the chance to win 2016 season tickets in a drawing that will take place at the end of each month. The first drawing by the Rays will occur on Mon., Feb. 29.
The Rays mascot Roscoe the Rooster will also appear with the Cup in limited engagements at each tour stop or by request.
Any businesses wishing to host the Mercer Cup during the 2016 Tour may contact the Princeton Rays front office by phone at (304)-487-2000 or email at princetonrays@frontier.com.
