2013 CIFL Champion Erie Explosion Announce Open Tryout

(Erie,PA)- The 2013 CIFL Champion Erie Explosion are searching for talent for the 2014 season. The Explosion will host an open tryout on Sunday September 8th from 9:00am-11:00am (Registration begins at 8:30am) on the campus of Edinboro University in the Zafirovski Sports & Recreation Arena at 219 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA 16444. Erie Explosion Head Coach Shawn Liotta, the 2013 CIFL Coach of the Year, and his staff will be conducting the tryout and searching for talent to add to their 2014 Training Camp Roster. The Explosion have had numerous players advance to the AFL or CFL over the past two seasons and are looking to re-load their roster following an undefeated season in 2013. Prospective 2014 players may contact Coach Liotta at SLiotta@erieexplosion.com to submit film links and bio information prior to the workout. Contracts will be offered to deserving players immediately following this tryout camp.

Tryout Participants will be tested in the 40 Yard Dash, Pro Agility, L Drill, and Broad Jump. Athletes will then be tested in specific positional and group drills. There is a $65.00 registration fee payable by Cash or Money Order Only. Registration begins promptly at 8:30am. Participants will be expected to wear proper workout clothing and proper footwear (No Spikes or Turf Shoes). There will be no trainer on-hand for player taping, and players should bring plenty of water as none will be provided at the workout. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. This is a non-contact camp and no equipment will be required. All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver prior to the tryout.
