The 2013-2014 Blizzard season is just two weeks away and the Blizzard are excited to announce some new and exciting promotions, partnerships, theme nights, and ticket packages for the year. Below is a list of some of the things you can expect this season at the Larson Ice Center.

NAHL Showcase

The Blizzard will start the 2013-2014 season at the 11th Annual NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN. The team will play four regular season games from Sept. 18th-21st against out of division opponents. The Blizzard will open up at 4:30pm on Wednesday the 18th against the Michigan Warriors. CLICK HERE to see the complete schedule and learn more about the NAHL Showcase.

Kick Off Party at Buffalo Wild Wings

Kick-off the 2013-2014 season with the Blizzard on Tuesday, Sept 24th at Buffalo Wild Wings. Come out and meet players and coaches and help support a good cause. The Blizzard and Buffalo Wild Wings have teamed up for Eat Wings, Raise Funds from 5pm-8pm. 10% of sales that evening will go to the Brookings Ice Skating Association and the Brookings Figure Skating Club. Guests will be able to register to win tickets and other prizes throughout the night. Season ticket holders will also be able to pick up their tickets at the event.

Opening Night Tailgate Party sponsored by HyVee

The Blizzard are very excited for their home opener on Friday, September 27th against the Aberdeen Wings. Fans are invited to a pregame tailgate party sponsored by HyVee to start the season with a bang. Free food and drinks will be available to anyone that comes out for the tailgate party, as well as lawn games and a live broadcast by Brookings Radio. It will be the first game of the SoDak Shootout, a season long head-to-head battle between South Dakota's two NAHL teams. Bragging rights will be on the line as both teams fight for South Dakota supremacy.

Tickets

This season the Blizzard have partnered with Ticket-e-Split and fans will be able to purchase their tickets on-line with easy and convenience. CLICK HERE to purchase individual game tickets on-line to any regular season game this year. You can print the tickets at home, or email the ticket to your smart phone and show the electronic ticket at the door. The Blizzard will continue to sell tickets at the arena on game nights, during business hours, and at Bozied's Shell Station at 6th and Medary.

Cubby's BLIZZ CREW

Cubby's BLIZZ CREW is the Blizzard fan club for high school and college students. For $15, students will receive the official BLIZZ CREW t-shirt, merchandise discounts, and the ability to purchase discounted student tickets for $5. Students can purchase tickets at Bozied's Shell station using their HOBO Doug.

Sanford Health Jr. Blizzard Kids Club

Kids 13 and under can join the Sanford Health Jr. Blizzard Kids Club for only $30. As a Kids Club member, kids will receive a punch card for 5 game tickets, Kids Club membership card, an autographed picture of Bernie, a Sanford drawstring backpack, and the chance to be the Jr. Blizzard of the game. The Jr. Blizzard of the game will get to skate the flag onto the ice during the starting line-up, have their name announced over the PA system, and ride the NAPA Mini-Zamboni between periods.

Group Ticket

Discounted group night tickets are availiable for groups of 20 or more. Call 605-592-9114 to take advantage of our group ticket prices.

The Whiskey Creek VIP Party Deck

Once again the Blizzard are offering the most exciting all-inclusive entertainment experience in Brookings. The VIP Party Deck is the perfect place for group events, customer appreciation nights, employee holiday parties, and birthday celebrations. $28 dollars get you your game ticket, a meal catered by Whiskery Creek with a variety of food options, and complimentary beer and soda.It doesn't matterif it is a groupof 10 or 110, the VIP Party Deck is the best way to experience Blizzard hockey.

Papa John's Birthday Party Package

For $150 your child will have a birthday party to remember. The package included 10 student tickets, 2 adult tickets, 2 Papa John's Pizzas, 12 Pepsi products, a Blizzard t-shirt for the Birthday child, name and picture announced on the video screen, and the birthday child gets to sit on the Blizzard bench during warm-ups.

Bus Program

Need a ride to the Blizzard game? The Blizzard have partnered up with BATA to provide FREE rides to and from Blizzard home games. The bus will start running at 6:00pm on game nights with various stops around town. After the game fans can then catch a ride back to their pick-up location or downtown.

Blizzard in the Community

Blizzard players and coaches will be busy in the community again this season. Blizzard On The Road

It will be easier than ever to follow the Blizzard this season, even when they are on the road. The Blizzard and Brookings Radio have partnered to broadcast 20 road games on The Hawk 107.1 this season. The first road broadcast, presented by Dacotah Bank, will be Saturday, Sept. 21st when the Blizzard take on the Kenai River Brown Bears at 7:00pm at the NAHL Showcase. Fans can also watch all games, home and away, on Fasthockey.com. Cubby's Sports Bar & Grill and the Ground Round will also broadcast games when the team is on the road.
