
2012 Storm Coaching Staff Unveiled

The Sioux Falls Storm is proud to announce its 2012 coaching staff, welcoming two new coaches to the team and returning five. Josh Siegfried will join as defensive coordinator and James Schrenk will be coaching the defensive line, while Alvin Ashley, Paul Keizer, Tyler Pedersen, Donny Hilsenroth and Kurtiss Riggs return.
Josh Siegfried joins the Storm after serving six years as Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School's defensive coordinator. Siegfried has coached 10 years at Roosevelt, during which they have won three state titles. This will be Siegfried's first year with the Storm.
James Schrenk is joining the Storm as the new defensive line coach while also serving as a graduate assistant coach for linebackers at Augustana College. Schrenk was a four-year letter-winner at Northern Colorado where he started two years at linebacker and earned All-Big Sky honorable mention honors as a senior.
Alvin Ashley returns to the Storm for his second season as the wide receiver's coach after an 11-year career in the Arena Football League and an assistant coaching stint at Dakota State University. Ashley gained over 7,500 receiving yards during his career and scored 162 touchdowns. Ashley played college football at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Paul Keizer is in his fourth season with the Storm, and will coach the offensive line. Under Keizer's direction, the Storm rushing attack averaged 119.1 rushing yards per game and 5.3 yards per rush in 2011. Keizer played for the Storm in 2007 and 2008 and was named an All-Star each year. In 2007, Keizer and the rest of the offensive line set team records and total points scored.
Tyler Pedersen returns for his second season with the Storm as equipment manager, while Donny Hilsenroth will be entering his eighth season as head of player control.
"We are very excited to have Josh join our staff," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "I have gotten to know him during his coaching career and have great respect for what he brings to the coaching field. Players and fans are going to love his energy and commitment to the game. Overall, we have assembled a great staff that has a mix of new and veteran experience that I feel will work very well together." Coach Riggs will be entering is 10th year as head coach of the Storm.
